The Problem

A boutique consulting firm came to us with a familiar complaint: plenty of traffic, not enough of it turning into real conversations. Their website looked professional. It just wasn’t working.

What We Found

We ran our three-page pressure test: home, about, services. We found the same pattern we see in most professional services sites. The home page led with the firm’s name and a mission statement instead of the client’s problem. The About page opened with credentials instead of purpose. The services page was a grid of six offerings with no order and no path: a menu, not a guide.

A visitor arriving with a real problem had to do the work of translating the firm’s language into their own situation. Most people don’t do that work. They leave.

What We Changed

We rebuilt the order, not the brand. Home page opened with a single sentence naming the problem their best clients actually had. About page led with why the firm exists, credentials moved down, where they serve as proof instead of the pitch. Services page became a path: here’s where you likely are, here’s what happens next, here’s what it looks like when it’s done.

The Result

Three months later, inbound qualified calls had doubled. Traffic hadn’t changed. The read had.

The lesson we keep relearning: most professional services sites don’t need more visitors. They need to be understood faster by the visitors already showing up.

If this sounds like your site, start with a Digital Clarity Conversation. We’ll look at what’s working, what’s unclear, and what needs a steadier owner.
